"2018 Show Dates Announced at WestWorld of Scottsdale; Saturday and Sunday, April 14-15, 2018"

Phoenix, AZ (April 18, 2017) – Amazing Pet Expos, promoters of the 8th annual Phoenix Pet Expo are pleased to announce new company records for pet adoptions as well as the number of Lure Course runs in a single day.  The event, which took place at WestWorld of Scottsdale on Easter weekend saw over 22,000 attendees over the two-day event and adopted out over 200 rescue animals from the Petfinder.com Mega Adoption Area.

“As a company, we only support adoptable pets, said Vice President Ethan Barnett. Certainly, we recognize that there are respectable breeders out there, but there are also so many pets in dire need of a good home and we are so thankful for the work that our participating 501c3 organizations do. The Phoenix Pet Expo is a wonderful showcase for these pets and for people who are looking for a new forever friend.”   

In addition to a record number of on-site adoptions, Indy’s Run for Rescue, which was presented by Brittany Rescue AZ, offered attendees the opportunity to let their pets run off some energy on the Lure Course in a fun and interactive manner.  Lure Coursing is a sport where dogs chase a mechanical lure around a set track and Brittany Rescue AZ used this as a fundraiser for their rescue organization.  Brittany Rescue AZ reported a new one day record of 240 runs on Saturday, which raised $1265 for their organizations medical and food fund. They also reported two pending dog adoptions from the event.  In addition, they also hosted a shoe collection drive which continues through May 15, 2017.  Brittany Rescue AZ is a volunteer, non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to rescuing and rehoming purebred Brittany Spaniels, Brittany mixes and other sporting breed dogs.

“The Lure Course was one of the most popular experiences at the Phoenix Pet Expo, said Brittany Rescue AZ Co-Director Mark Berberich.  We honestly could not be more thankful for the amount of participation by attendees which helped us raise a lot of money that will go towards our medical and food fund for our adoptable pets.  The Phoenix Pet Expo is one of our favorite events each year!”  

Over 15 non-profit rescue organizations from around the Phoenix area participated in the event this year and reported a total of over 200 pet adoptions as a result of the event.  On average, in 26 shows across the country, organizers report over 5,000 adoptions annually as a result of their shows.

Organizers are already preparing for the next Phoenix Pet Expo, which is announced for Saturday and Sunday, April 14-15, 2018.  The 9th annual show will take place at WestWorld of Scottsdale for the fifth year in a row.
