Agility Course

The Agility Course is hosted by our generous friends at Jump Play, K9 Sports Training, Top Notch Canines, K9 Inspired, AZ Dogsports & K9 Campus.

Agility is a sport that appeals to all dog lovers - from young people to senior citizens - and has great spectator appeal. Agility is designed to demonstrate a dog’s willingness to work with it’s handler in a variety of situations. Highland Canine Training will be doing an Agility For Fun demonstration. The dog and handler will demonstrate agility basics such as jumping over agility jumps and jumping through hoops. Participants are encouraged to let their dogs try the jumps and hoops. Highland Canine will also demonstrate the hot sport of Rally Obedience, commonly called Rally O. The handler and dog will navigate a course with numbered signs that indicate different exercises like sit, down, jump over an agility jump, figure 8’s and other competition obedience commands. Feel free to send your dog through the course to see how much he or she knows!

Agility demonstrations will be presented at 10AM, 11AM, 12PM, 1PM, 2PM, 3PM, 4PM & 5PM

Flyball & Disc Dogs Course

The Flyball Course is hosted by our generous friends at Phoenix Fuzion Flyball & Hot Pawsuit.

Flyball races match two teams of four dogs each, racing side-by-side over a 51 foot long course. Each dog must run in relay fashion down the jumps, trigger a flyball box, releasing the ball, retrieve the ball, and return over the jumps. The next dog is released to run the course but can’t cross the start/finish line until the previous dog has returned over all 4 jumps and reached the start/finish line. The first team to have all four dogs finish the course without error wins the heat.

The Disc Dogs Course is hosted by our generous friends at AZ Disc Dogs.

Disc dog is the more generic name for what is commonly called Frisbee dog. In disc dog competitions, dogs and their human disc throwers compete in events such as distance catching and somewhat choreographed freestyle catching. The sport celebrates the bond between handler and dog, by allowing them to work together. The term “disc” is preferred because “Frisbee” is a trademark (held by Wham-O) for a brand of flying disc.

Flyball and disc dog demonstrations will be presented at 10:30AM, 11:30AM, 12:30PM, 1:30PM, 2:30PM, 3:30PM & 4:30PM
